Making Changes
After having Evey (baby #2) it took a while to back in to some sort of a routine. Adjusting to our new babe was hard for me. Balancing my attention between two kids that are at totally different stages of life. Having the patience and energy to meet everyones needs including my own was very draining for a while. We still have those days where everything is a chore but more so than not we are having good days.
There were many things that I was being lazy about. Not putting time or effort into and just being lazy. I would complain about the situation but not do anything to change it. Well as we all know I am the only one that can change my situation. Just like you are the only one that can change your situation. We can complain about it all day but until we take the steps we need to take to make the change the situation is not going to change.
First change. First things first was I needed to take care of my self. I needed time to do something on my own inorder to feel rejuvinated and refreshed. I was feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted and I needed to do something about it. I have been getting up early every morning (as hard as that is) inorder to wake up a little before my babes wake up. I am able to read, journal, pray, which is also filling up my tank and then I can do anything else that I want to do inorder to be ready for the day. Thankfully my hubby is understanding and is ok with me going out by myself every now and then which is REALLY nice too!
Second change. Eating habits. Breakfast first of all was not going good for a while. Its my least fave meal of the day. I was struggling to actually sit down and eat something substantial and I was very lazy with what Noni would eat too. But by getting up early I have time to wake up and drink my coffee and then when Noni gets up I am ready for breakfast. We eat a well rounded breakfast trying to have some sort of protien and then we get dressed and ready for the day. It makes our mornings go so much smoother.
Third change. Meal planning. I am not strict about this one but for my husbands sake who works physically hard every day I am trying to put much more effort into this. I am trying to atleast have ideas for the week and buying a variety of ingredients to work with inorder to have healthy and delicous meals. I also am trying to be purposeful with my time inorder to prep meals. Sometimes preparing something in the morning or during naps even if it means getting off the computer earlier than I would like inorder to get kitchen stuff done.
Fourth change. Cleaning. Yes the dreaded cleaning. I hate it I really do but I love the end result. I got REALLY lazy with this one over the winter. Peter would sweep for me and thats about all that would get done. This is a new one so we will see how it goes but I am going to try and be more diligent in keeping up with it. Wish me luck.
There are many more things I would like to change but this is a start. What about you? Are there certain things in your life you wish would be different? I encourage you to take the steps that are needed to make the change. Only you can change it!!!
