~A New Year~

A new day. A new month. A new year. There is something exciting and refreshing about
starting a new year. You have a clean slate. So much hope and possibilities for the
year ahead. Opportunity to do things better. Resolutions can be cheesy and
by the end of the month most people have already given up on them
BUT there's nothing wrong with trying to improve or grow or change.
I have a few things I want to do more of. Call them resolutions
or call them wants/desires, whatever but I have a few.

I want to Pray more. I want to Love more. I want to read more. I want to encourage more.
I want to be bold. I want to be confident in who God made me.
I want to be more patient, gentle, understanding with my girls.

I want to two-way journal more. Not just
me writing but me listening to Gods voice.

I want to spend more time listening to this little chick.
I want to say yes more to this girly.

I want to savor each and every baby stage Oppy has left!

I want to embrace my role as mama to these three beauties more than ever before!

A quote from a book I am going through sums up my desires for 2014.
"I can be a mom who thrives and lives and loves the great adventure I've been called to." -Lisa Terkeurst
First of all I want to thrive not just go through the motions.
Second of all I want to love the great adventure. So often I look at motherhood as a job
or a chore or a burden. I let the little frustrations and my own selfishness get
in the way of my perspective. I want to see my role as Stay-At-Home-Mama
as a GREAT ADVENTURE!! How fun does a great adventure sound? Who
wouldn't want to go on a great adventure?

So goodbye 2013. You were good to us. Hello 2014 I am excited for whats to come.
Happy 2014 to all of you and God Bless You!!!!!

mE and mY GirLs***photo session***

If you know me well you know I looove pictures. I love taking pics of my girls and looking back
and remembering things about them when they were that little. So I asked a friend
to take some pics of me and my girls together. I got some ideas from pinterest and the girls cooperated
really well. I did bribe Evey with a lollipop towards the end but I am happy with them.

Christmas time!

Although I very much dislike winter I do love Christmas and it would not
be the same if it wasn't cold. But last Saturday we had some
beautiful weather to go get a tree. My dad owns
a tree farm so it's a no brainer that we are going to go get a fresh one. My
hubby used to work for my dad so getting a tree isn't really a big deal for
us but its still a fun experience for the kiddies.

-poor Noni was sick and was really not into it this year. :(

-we got a tall skinny one this year.

It's the little things that make a season/holiday special. The banner that I made.
That really cool tree-girl in the center.

Ceramic nativity from my mom.
Pretty Advent calendar from my sis-in-law that the kids LOVE!

My little Evey girl trying her hardest to get an ornament on the branch.
(she is doing really well with leaving ornaments alone)

We have some festive family activities coming up that will be fun!!
Enjoy the holiday season everyone!

*Thanksgiving*

We had a pretty uneventful day. Me and the girls watched the parade in the morning. Well
I did. Noni liked the dancing parts and Evey danced with the songs off and on
but every thing inbetween they were a little bored with. Opal and Evey were sick with
a cold so it made for some cranky babies. Opal especially was really
really uncomfortable. She slept most of the day on mama.
SO I was struggling to be thankful that day. : /
We had dinner at my moms! The menu was Turkey (duh), corn pudding,
roasted red beets and rudabega, greenbean almondine, stuffing- regular
and gluten free, rolls, homemade apple sauce, pumpkin and pecan pie (gluten free),
and tapioca pudding. Oh and yummy potato candy made by my mom-mom!
I think that was everything; it was delicious!

 The whole gang!
 ~cousins~
They don't get to see eachother much these days so they were off
playing the whole time.
Opal's 1st Thanksgiving! She was in the Ergo pretty much the whole night.
She was miserable. :(

EveRyOne is ThAnkFul for ME!!

Hope you ALL had a wonderful Turkey Day!
